  • Cenen Herrera is a Strategy Consultant, Fraud Examiner, and Chess Player whose overarching objective is to help create and sustain a culture of continuous innovation through collective excellence.  Cenen focuses on the formulation, execution, and evaluation of the design and operating effectiveness of the corporate strategies of an organization.  Cenen had occupied leadership roles in controllership, treasury, risk management, internal auditing, ex-ante and ex post loan loss provisioning, income planning, resource management and liquidity forecasting.  Cenen has an extensive exposure in rolling budgets, flux analysis, financial dashboards, decisive financial indicators, grant element calculation, present value accounting, capital adequacy, risk bearing capacity, scenario planning, shock analysis, and stochastic/financial modeling.  In addition, Cenen is an expert in determining the loan spread equivalent, implementing tactical and strategic financial gambits, fraud investigation, FDICIA/ SOX/ FAR/ DFARS/CAS/GAGAS/IFRS/GAAP compliance, arbitrage and bootstrapping opportunities, financial engineering and derivative accounting, sovereign and commercial credit risk modeling, and other strategic functions such as asset-liability and capital gearing management. 
  • Cenen was a team member of a triple "A" rated Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) - Asian Development Bank, which effectively managed its $20 Billion reserves and currency holdings through stress-testing, simulation exercises, currency conversion programs, risk bearing capacity, simplified financial statements, ALM, decisive financial indicators, etc.
  • Cenen was the chairperson of the Board of Directors of a multi-purpose cooperative (7th largest credit union in the Philippines during his time) - ADBEMC that successfully implemented a balanced scorecard with about 1,300 members.
  • Cenen was a member of a local team of finance professionals who successfully implemented the GM 1210 and GM 1240 financial forecasting system of the subsidiary of a top-rated multinational organization - General Motors.
  • Cenen was a team leader of a group of world class auditors at the Defense Contract Audit Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense for auditing some of the largest military vendors in the U.S.A. Europe, and Asia, i.e., with combined resources of over US$ 1 Trillion.
  • While in Iowa, U.S.A. at LJ Roth Reconstruction, Inc., Cenen generated multi-million-dollar annual headroom/programs. Cenen was the editor-in-chief of the company’s quarterly newsletter and was the first and only Filipino-American to occupy the CFO position in the company's over 50 years of industry experience.  Cenen introduced and successfully implemented open-book-management to stimulate productivity across the workforce.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA - Asia), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA - San Francisco Bay Area, New York & Iowa, U.S.A.), Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE, U.S.A.), Certified in Financial Management (CFM - Department of Defense, U.S.A.), Certified Management Accountant (CMA - Australia), and Certified Basel Professional (Europe).  In addition, Cenen holds an MBA from the Ateneo de Manila University, and completed doctoral level work at De La Salle University. 

Cenen is an Independent Strategy Consultant and Chess Player, a Senior Credit Officer at Asian Development Bank (Retired), a Senior Federal Auditor of the Defense Contract Audit Agency - DoD, U.S.A. (Retired), and was a former Guest Lecturer in International Finance, Management Accounting, and Auditing at De La Salle University, Manila (both in the undergraduate and graduate programs), Central Bank of the Philippines (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Institute),  Jose Rizal University, and Las Pinas Colleges.  

Cenen was the former Chief Financial Officer of LJ Roth Reconstruction, Inc (with over 50 years of restoration service in Iowa, U.S.A.), and a former member of the Board of Directors - Financial Expert of at least three leading organizations in Asia and North America.  Cenen was also a former Strategy/ ERM/Finance Consultant of the following organizations:
